ELIJAH LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

Crespi Carmelite High School awards $10,000 in scholarships over four years ($2,500 per year) toward Crespi tuition to entering freshmen students who have provided outstanding leadership in their school, church or organization. [Click here to apply.]

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Students must fill out the Elijah Leadership Scholarship Application for Entering Freshmen along with the required handwritten essay and submit it to the Crespi Admissions Office by February 15.
  2. Students must take the High School Entrance Exam at Crespi Carmelite High School.
  3. Student must have outstanding recommendations from his teachers and School Principal. The Letters of Recommendation forms are included in the application packet and can be downloaded below.
  4. Students must have a strong academic record. 
The scholarship is $10,000 over four years ($2,500 per year) if the student maintains a 3.0 GPA at the end of each semester. The number of scholarships is limited. Not every student who applies will be a scholarship recipient.

COACH SCOTT MUCKEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

Coach Scott MuckeyEstablished in 2017, the Coach Scott Muckey Memorial Scholarship awards current or newly-entering Crespi Carmelite High School students who embody the characteristics of a Crespi Man. The scholarship honors the life and contributions of Coach Scott Muckey, former coach for Crespi Celts baseball program. Under Coach Muckey’s leadership, the program would go on to win 11 league titles, two Southern Section titles and have numerous players go on to play for college and professional teams. While Coach Muckey was a baseball coaching legend, he also believed in forming all Crespi Men, which is why this scholarship is open for all to apply.  
 
Administered by the California Community Foundation (“the Foundation”), the Coach Scott Muckey Memorial Scholarship provides one recipient annually with a one-time award to support the cost of tuition and fees to attend Crespi. The opportunity requires that you submit an application that is representative of your accomplishments, challenges you may have faced, and how you embody the characteristics of the Crespi Man.

THE Paul Angel Jr. Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was created in memory of Paul Angel Jr., graduating class of 2001. He was a member of the Crespi Basketball program. Paul was full of life. His family and friends want him memorialized with this legacy. Please write a 500-word essay about the importance of accountability and how you have been accountable as a leader at Crespi.

THE CLASS OF 1983 Scholarship 

This scholarship was created in the name of alumni from the Crespi class of 1983. Please write a one-page essay about the Crespi Brotherhood and how you will be an example for students once you become an alumnus.

This scholarship was created in the name of the Crespi Dads Club and the mantra of "Help Where You Can, When You Can". For all interested applicants: Please write a 500-750-word essay about how you embody the Crespi Man spirit.

The Peg O’Connor Memorial Scholarship

Peg O’Connor was a beloved member of the Crespi community for 40 years. Please write a 500-word essay on the importance of being part of a community like Crespi. Include how you make Crespi a better community.

Stephen C. Moede Scholarship

The Stephen C. Moede Scholarship is given in memory of the 1963 alumnus, Army veteran, and retired LAPD Captain to a returning Celt who embodies the qualities of the Crespi Man and is not only a solid student, but is also highly involved in other co and extra-curricular activities. Please write a one-page essay addressing the way(s) you embody the characteristics of the Crespi Man. Include all activities you have been involved in during your Crespi career.

The Rodriguez Family Scholarship

This scholarship is offered by the Rodriguez Family to two (2) deserving Latino students (one an incoming freshman and one returning student). Recipients will be selected by the Rodriguez Family. Please write a one-page essay about how you embody the Crespi Man spirit.

Appointed Scholarships (no essay required)

Fr. Fred Tillotson, O. Carm., Scholarship (Junior Classman)

Fr. Fred Tillotson, O. Carm., taught English and Journalism at Crespi Carmelite High School from 1970-1975 and served as President and Principal from 1990-1998. Fr. Fred has established a scholarship to be awarded to a rising junior. Only one student will receive this scholarship and will be appointed by a faculty member of the Crespi community.
