Crespi Carmelite High School is proud to offer placement exams on May 10 & 17, 2024 for the following subjects:

  • Mathematics
  • World Language
  • English
  • Science

Placement tests are intended for two populations of students:

  1. Students who may not have earned Honors at Entrance based on grades and HSPT scores BUT they have proficiency in one or more subject areas where an honors course is offered.
  2. Students who earned Honors at Entrance based on grades and HSPT scores BUT would like to pursue an advanced math or advanced language course (French, Latin, or Spanish). 

For the Class of 2028, our official placement testing dates are May 10 and May 17.

  • Testing will begin at 1:45 p.m.
  • Students are allotted 60 minutes per exam.
  • Students are permitted to take a maximum of two tests per day.
  • Non-graphing calculators are permitted on the Math Placement Test.
  • In some cases, Crespi faculty may wish to schedule a follow-up interview to help identify the best placement for an incoming student.

Outcomes for placement tests may be as follows:

  1. English – with adequate performance, students can enter Honors Grammar/Composition 1.
  2. Science – with adequate performance, students can enter Honors Biology.
  3. World Languages – with adequate performance, students can enter a variety of advanced language courses.
  4. Math - with adequate performance, students can enter a variety of advanced math courses: Honors Algebra 1, Geometry, Honors Geometry, Algebra 2, or Honors Algebra 2/Trigonometry.
