The Crespi Taiko Ensemble

The Crespi Taiko program has taught Crespi students the art of Japanese taiko drumming since its creation in 2007.  Taiko classes at Crespi serve as both a PE credit, and a UC approved Fine Art credit.  Students learn to become skilled taiko performers, but are also guided through an understanding of taiko drumming’s historic and cultural significance in both Japan and the Japanese-American community.  Crespi Taiko is currently under the direction of Blaine O’Brien.

Crespi Taiko is hosting our Winter Taiko Recital, here in the Crespi Gym.  On December 16th at 5:00pm, all taiko classes, including our Louisville Taiko club, will be performing in a collaborative concert, celebrating the end of our Fall semester.  Admission is free, but this show is one night only, so don’t miss out!
