This proud program holds several national high school records, state and CIF champions. In recent years, Crespi Track & Field Team has won 3 CIF Runner-Up Titles (’04, ’05, ’07), 1 CIF Team Championship (’08), and had multiple athletes compete at the CIF California State T&F Championships (’04, ’07, ’08, ’09, ’10, ’12)
The Celts are led by first-year Head Coach Geno Sullivan who comes to Crespi after eight seasons as the Jumps and Assistant Sprints coach at his alma mater Cal Lutheran University (class of 2002) where he coached 4 All- American jumpers and assisted with 3 relay teams that also competed at the national level. Coach Sullivan also teaches in the Physical Education Department at Crespi.
Coach Kevin Vollmer will be coaching the sprinters. A decorated athlete at both Crespi (class of 2004) and the University of Redlands (class of 2008), Coach Vollmer bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Celts. While at Crespi Coach Vollmer was a four-year letterman and was awarded Team MVP in 2003 and 2004. At the University of Redlands, he was a four-year letterman, a National Qualifier in the 200m and 4x400m as well as 10-time recipient of an All-Conference Award. Coach Vollmer also serves as the Assistant Dean of Men at Crespi.
Coach Brian Bilek will be coaching the hurdles for the Celts. Coach Bilek is a 1998 graduate of Crespi High School and a 2002 graduate of UC Berkley. While at Crespi Coach Bilek was a four-time letter winner for the Celts in Track and Field. Coach Bilek also teaches Architecture and Mathematics on campus at Crespi.
Coach Nick DeLeo will be coaching the Pole Vault. After Coaching at Malibu High School for four seasons Coach DeLeo racked up 2 League Titles and four CIF qualifiers. Coach DeLeo is also teaching in the Math department at Crespi.
Coach Brandon Greenberg, a 2-time CIF champion & state finalist in the shot put will take over the throwers this year after a great career at UC Davis. Coach Greenberg is excited to be working back at his alma mater (class of 2010).
