Crespi Basketball

Crespi’s basketball program, which is rich in tradition and pride as well as the holder of two C.I.F. titles, is under the direction of Russell White. The Celts will enter their 52nd season in 2013-2014. Coach White, a 1994 graduate of California Lutheran University, begins his eighth season at the helm. During Coach White's seven years, the Celts have gone to the playoffs seven times including five straight C.I.F. semi-final appearances, four straight state championship appearances, one C.I.F. southern section title, and have accumulated more than 20 wins per year.

During the 2014-15 school year, five former Celts will be playing basketball for their college or university.  Matt Mounier '11 will be a senior at Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA playing for the Missionaries. He was an all-league honoree last season.  Michael Avery '12 is slated to compete for starting spot at Sonoma State for the Seawolves.  London Perrantes '13 will be a sophomore at the University of Virginia.  He was a member of the All-ACC Freshmen team last last year and led the Cavaliers to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament.  Carter Gallo '13 will play for the Santa Monica City College Corsairs.  It will be his first year of college hoops after playing a year at a prep school.  DJ Ursery '14 will be freshmen at the University of the Pacific in Stockton.

The Celts play their home games on campus in the Alumni Memorial Gymnasium on Paul Muff Court. In December, the Celts will co-host the San Fernando Valley Invitational from December 2-7, then travel to San Luis Obispo for the Mission Prep Classic from Dec. 18-21, and finally travel to the Don Bambauer Memorial Tournament at Marin Catholic High School in the Bay Area from December 26-30.  The Celts will then compete in the formidable Mission League in January and February.
